Day 20

Tuesday. A two hour drive to Jacksonville to see Seth's grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins. We ate Grandpa Vorwaller's figs, climbed into his filled in well, hid under his 20 foot grape fruit trees, were eaten by his mosquitoes, snacked, played with their classic toys, reviewed photo albums, and danced a jig to the Victrola in their small living room. We could have square danced (almost did).

Then it was off to Aunt Carmen's house where Lily and Rebekah were literally greeted with Caroline's open arms. We chatted briefly with Aunt Carmen who, to me, is a true southern belle. Her voice, her grace, her easy air. She is a delight.  We left our children with her, as did Seth's cousin Michael.  Blaine is John's age and they were running and chasing before we left. We went to dinner at the Red Elephant with Michael and Lisa. We rarely see them, but there was never an ebb in conversation or an awkward pause. Conversation crisscross around the table. Sometimes include on two, other times all four. They are such easy friends. Can I really have married into such easy people. Late night drive back to Longwood. Great day for all.

    1. A goober?? It's okay to close your eyes. You look beautiful and happy. We had a fabulous time and wish it could happen far more often.
