Last year, Lily took fourth place in the school spelling bee without studying. This year when she spelled her way into the school bee, she actually brought the list home and we studied. Seth did most of the quizzing. Rebekah and I helped. We looked up definitions and pronunciations. She stayed up too late many nights. This last weekend, she declared she would win it.
Today was the day. We wished her luck and told her to pray. I probably shouldn't have, but I cried when she spelled her final word. The last word of the entire spelling bee. She won.
